Hair Care Routines Must Follow During Monsoon!

Monsoon arrives and people relives. After a good torcher of scorching heat of summer, the drops of monsoon rain brings us with the immense feeling of joy and relaxation. The season refreshes us, makes us feel alive. However, monsoon time is also among those time when we needs to take some extra care of our body.

You probably take excellent care of your body and skin, but the hair is often, most neglected. In short, Monsoon hair care is essential!

Why Take Extra Care Of Hairs During Monsoon?

The climate during monsoon season is sticky due to excessive humidity which can lead to several scalp infections and hair problems. The sticky climate increases the probability of dandruff, hair fall, and other problems too. In fact, your hair is in its weakest condition during this time, and so, your hair needs maximum care.

Here we are with some hair care routines and tips, to keep your hair problems at bay this monsoon.

Oil Treatment For Twice A Week!

Experts advice oiling your hair twice in a week during monsoons. They say choose a right ayurvedic oil, take the required amount for your hairs, warm it a bit, and then apply to your hairs, after you apply oil to your hairs from root to tip, give a smooth 5 minute massage to your scalp using your fingers.

Oiling also keeps your hair away from the unruliness and fizziness in monsoons by deep-conditioning your hair naturally. Choosing a oil with Ayurvedic ingredients like neem, tea-tree, aloe vera, etc is much beneficial as these ingredients have anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties which help you fight from different scalp infections in the rainy season.

Wash Your Hairs Properly After You Drench In Rain!

Drenching in rain means, a good amount of acidic elements got trapped in your hair follicles and may cause an imbalance in your scalp pH. This pushes your sebaceous glands to secrete excessive sebum, which makes your scalp oily and greasy while inviting various pathogens to feed on. Thus, it is necessary for you to clean your hair and scalp properly after you get drenched in rain. Use a good shampoo, to clean your hairs, after your hair comes in contact with rainwater.

Prepare Hair Packs At Home And Apply!

Applying hair packs to your hair rejuvenates them and act as a natural conditioner, making them smooth and shiny. Not only they conditions your hair, in fact they also help detoxify your scalp and help prevent several scalp infections. It is recommended instead of using hair mask or packs available in market, prefer preparing it at home with the natural ingredients.

Here are some highly promising Ayurvedic hair packs for monsoons that you can make at home with natural ingredients:

  1. Mix curry leaves, soaked fenugreek seeds, tulsi leaves, and green gram in equal proportions. Grind all the ingredients into a fine paste and apply it across your scalp and hair. Leave it for about 30 minutes before washing it off with normal water.
  2.  Make a fine paste by blending hibiscus leaves, mint leaves, and a few tsp of lime juice. Apply this from roots to the tips of your hair thoroughly and wash it off after 30 minutes using an Ayurvedic shampoo.
  3. Soak 3-5 tsp of fenugreek seeds in water overnight and grind them the next morning into a thick and fine paste. Apply this pack thoroughly to your scalp and hair. Wash it thoroughly with normal water after 30-40 minutes.

A balanced Diet Also Helps!

Monsoon rains gives cravings of hot, spicy, oily and crispy food items, like pakodas, those hot and spicy street foods. But, but, if you want your hairs to remain healthy in monsoon, you have to avoid these food items as these foods will only intensify hair and scalp problems.

Take a fresh and healthy diet that is rich in vitamins-A, B, C, D, E, K, proteins, and minerals like iron, zinc, etc., also try including salads, flax seeds, leafy greens, sprouts, and seasonal vegetables and fruits in your diet regularly. Do ensure that you stay hydrated all day long, as due to high humidity during monsoon, your body tends to loose much amount of water.

Try Keeping Your Hair And Scalp Dry Most Of The Time!

Your hair is the weakest when they are wet, they easily frizzes and break out. Thus, it is advised to keep your hair and scalp dry during monsoons. Use required accessories such as umbrellas, caps, or scarfs if you are traveling during monsoons.

Do not tie your wet hairs, this may lead to scalp infections. Open or loose your hairs, let them get dry naturally. Later take a shower and wash your hair using shampoo to clean off the accumulated rain residues.

Remember, when season changes, our body reacts, similarly hair health is also effected, however if taken care of properly with the right hair care routines and tips, you can protect your hair from any season change impact.
